Welcome — I’m Lynly Timmerman, LPC and children’s author.
As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), sensory-informed therapist, and children’s book author my joy is creating stories that help kids and families feel seen.
In both my clinical work and creative writing, I’m passionate about supporting sensitive souls — especially those navigating sensory challenges, picky eating, anxiety, and big feelings that don’t always have .words. My upcoming children’s book, Not Today, Noodles, and other works in progress are born from this same mission: to gently normalize the hard stuff and offer playful, validating moments of relief.
Through gentle stories and compassionate support, I help sensitive souls feel seen, soothed, and understood — whether in the therapy room or on the page.
This is where it all comes together.Services
Whether you’re here for counseling services, inclusive books, or a cozy cat named October, you’re in the right place. Welcome to the heart of my work.
Practice
My coaching sessions are designed to offer focused, supportive guidance for individuals looking to gain clarity, build self-trust, or navigate life transitions. While coaching is not a substitute for therapy or clinical counseling, it provides a collaborative space to explore goals, patterns, and personal growth outside of a diagnostic framework.
Whether you’re a parent seeking support around sensory needs, a creative spirit navigating burnout, or someone craving gentle accountability, coaching offers a warm, structured place to start.
🕒 Sessions are 45 minutes and conducted virtually.
💻 Open to clients nationwide (no diagnosis required).
As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I offer compassionate, client-centered and humanistic therapy for children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, sensory processing challenges, neurodivergence, and feeding-related concerns such as ARFID.
My approach is warm, relational, and sensory-informed — designed to meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re seeking healing, regulation, or simply a space to be fully seen and heard.
🕰️ Sessions range from 45 to 60 minutes and are available virtually.
📋 I’m paneled through Grow Therapy and Headway with many major insurance plans.
💳 Private pay options are also available for those seeking more flexibility.
I offer consulting services for professionals, educators, caregivers, and organizations seeking guidance around sensory needs, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, or trauma-informed practices. This includes expert insight, program support, and professional collaboration — as well as court-related consultation and appearances, when appropriate (even when mandated).
Please note: Consulting is a separate service from coaching and counseling, with its own fee structure.
For court-related consulting, including documentation and appearances, see [Court Fees & Info]
Evaluations
-
Evaluations are a comprehensive starting point designed to understand your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Together, we’ll explore your current concerns, mental health history, family background, and important life events. We’ll also consider social, emotional, and sensory factors that may be impacting your well-being.
Our time will feel more like a conversation than a checklist. You are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to listen closely, reflect thoughtfully, and help you make sense of what you’re noticing or feeling.
This evaluation may include:
• A collaborative biopsychosocial history
• Symptom exploration (such as anxiety, depression, executive functioning, trauma)
• Screening tools when appropriate (e.g., ACEs, anxiety scales, sensory checklists)
• Neurodivergent-informed observations (without pathologizing)
• Space for identity, cultural context, and lived experience
At the end of our session, you’ll receive a summary of findings and next steps—whether that’s a diagnosis, a referral, documentation for school or work, or simply a deeper understanding of yourself.
-
Duration: 90–120 minutes (may be split into two sessions)
Format: Virtual or in-person
This neurodivergent-informed ADHD evaluation is designed to explore how your brain works—without judgment, shame, or assumptions. Whether you’re seeking clarity, language for self-advocacy, or formal documentation for work or school, this evaluation offers a compassionate and collaborative experience.
We’ll look beyond checklists to understand how attention, focus, emotional regulation, time management, and sensory processing show up in your daily life. Many individuals—especially women, AFAB individuals, and late-diagnosed adults—have lived for years without realizing their struggles were rooted in undiagnosed ADHD. This process honors that reality.
The evaluation includes:
• A comprehensive biopsychosocial interview
• Review of developmental, educational, and emotional history
• Optional collateral information (if desired or helpful)
• Validated ADHD screening tools
• Executive functioning, sensory, and emotional regulation exploration
• Trauma-informed and culturally sensitive considerations
• Space to discuss masking, burnout, and intersectionality
You will receive a written summary of findings, diagnostic impressions (if applicable), and personalized recommendations for support, accommodations, and next steps.
This is not a test of how “bad” your symptoms are—it’s an opportunity to understand yourself better and move forward with tools that actually work for your brain.
-
Duration: 90–150 minutes (may be split into multiple sessions)
Format: Virtual
This autism evaluation is a respectful and collaborative process designed to explore the way you experience the world. Whether you’re seeking formal identification, personal clarity, or support documentation, this evaluation centers your lived experience—especially if you’ve been overlooked, masked, or misunderstood.
We approach autism through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent lens. This means: no pathologizing, no forced eye contact, and no “functioning labels.” Instead, we explore patterns in communication, sensory preferences, routines, emotional processing, and how you’ve adapted across environments.
This evaluation may include:
• A thorough biopsychosocial interview
• Developmental, educational, and relational history
• Sensory and regulatory profile review
• Validated screening tools (such as the SRS-2, RAADS-R, or SCQ if appropriate)
• Gentle inquiry into masking, burnout, and internalized narratives
• Optional input from caregivers or loved ones (if desired)
• Space for gender, culture, trauma, and intersectionality
You’ll receive a written summary of findings, diagnostic impressions (if applicable), and personalized recommendations for accommodations, supports, and next steps.
This process welcomes self-diagnosed or questioning individuals, late-identified adults, and those seeking clarity outside the traditional medical model. You do not need to prove anything here—only show up as yourself.
-
Duration: 2–2.5 hours (may be split into multiple sessions)
Format: Virtual
This combined evaluation explores traits of both ADHD and Autism through a compassionate, neurodivergent-informed lens. Whether you’re seeking clarity, a formal diagnosis, or language to better understand yourself, this is a collaborative and validating process that honors your lived experience.
Many people—especially women, AFAB individuals, BIPOC, and late-identified adults—go years without knowing they are neurodivergent. This evaluation provides space to explore masking, sensory needs, executive functioning, and social-emotional processing in a way that feels gentle, respectful, and affirming.
Your evaluation may include:
• A comprehensive biopsychosocial interview
• Review of developmental, emotional, sensory, and relational history
• ADHD and Autism screening tools (e.g., ASRS, SRS-2, RAADS-R, or SCQ as appropriate)
• Exploration of executive functioning, sensory regulation, time perception, and identity
• Optional collateral input from family or loved ones (if helpful or desired)
• Trauma-informed, culturally responsive framework
• Supportive conversation around masking, burnout, and intersectionality
You will receive a written summary of findings, diagnostic impressions (if applicable), and personalized recommendations for accommodations, support resources, and next steps.
This process centers you—not a checklist. You don’t have to fit into a narrow mold or present in a specific way to be valid. Whether you’ve known for years or are just beginning to ask the questions, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.
-
Duration: 60–90 minutes (can be included as part of a neurodivergent assessment or scheduled separately)
Format: Virtual
This evaluation focuses specifically on understanding how your nervous system interacts with the world—through touch, sound, movement, taste, light, and internal cues. Whether you’re seeking clarity for yourself or your child, this is a gentle and collaborative process that helps identify sensory preferences, sensitivities, and regulatory needs.
Many people live for years adapting to sensory challenges without realizing the impact on their mood, energy, focus, or relationships. This evaluation helps make the invisible more visible—without judgment, shame, or pathologizing.
This evaluation includes:
• A sensory-informed interview exploring real-life experiences (e.g., clothing, sound, food, transitions)
• Use of validated screening tools (such as the Sensory Profile or Adolescent/Adult Sensory History)
• Discussion of regulation strategies, burnout patterns, and nervous system thresholds
• Optional integration into ADHD or Autism evaluation findings
• Personalized summary and practical recommendations
You’ll receive a written overview with insights and suggestions—ranging from environmental adaptations to co-regulation tools—designed to support your (or your child’s) unique sensory rhythm.
Whether you’re neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or simply exploring new ways to support your body and mind, this evaluation offers language, clarity, and compassion.

Supervision is rooted in person-centered values, emphasizing reflection, authenticity, and the integration of theory into real-world practice. Areas of focus often include boundaries, client dynamics, counselor identity, and navigating systems with care and clarity.
